EnCore Oil plc has announced that the drilling rig SS Petrolia has arrived on location on Exploration Licence 5/05 in the Celtic Sea offshore Ireland and has commenced drilling operations on the Schull gas discovery ("Schull").
Well 57/2-3 was spudded on 14 July 2007 in a water depth of approximately 360 feet. Schull was discovered by the Total operated well 57/7-2 in 1987.
Island Oil & Gas plc is the operator of the block with a 62.5 per cent. interest and EnCore holds a 12.5 per cent. interest.
