Far East Energy Corp. has named Thomas Williams chairman of its board of directors.
Williams joined Far East Energy's five-member board as a director in 2004. He is vice president of research and business development of Noble Technology Services, a subsidiary of Houston-based Noble Corp.
He succeeds John Mihm, owner and president of JCM Consulting PLLC, who will continue to serve on the board of the Houston-based energy exploration and development company as chairman of the compensation and nomination and corporate governance committees.
Far East Energy focuses on coalbed methane projects in China through its agreements with Houston-based ConocoPhillips and China United Coalbed Methane Co. Ltd.
