India's Essar Oil Ltd said it is undertaking a planned shutdown of its refinery operations in Vadinar in the western Indian state of Gujarat for three weeks from July 18 to ramp up capacity to 210,000 barrels per day.
The oil exploration and production company said it is in the process of integrating its secondary units, and the refinery is expected to operate at its full capacity from October this year.
The units include a fluid catalytic cracker with an annual capacity of three mln tonnes, a diesel hydro desulphurisation unit of 3.7 mln tonnes, a 3.2 mln tonnes-per-year ammonia recovery unit, and two sulphur recovery units, each with a daily capacity of 220 tonnes.
