Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP on Monday agreed to sell a gas pipeline system from Kansas to Chicago to Oneok Partners LP for $300 million.
Kinder said it the system is no longer a strategic asset. The company plans to use the money for other parts of its energy business.
Oneok confirmed the terms of the deal in a separate release. The company also is acquiring Kinder's 50-percent stake in Heartland Pipeline Co. and seven propane truck-loading terminals as part of the deal.
